Weather certainly has a huge impact on perceptions of different landscapes in a given moment. But under no conditions do I like the desert - not when I was in Israel, or desert areas here in the USA. :) Btw, if you are not exploring alone, the company you keep can equally impact mood and experience. For instance, if you're walking through an enchanted forest with a nice man on a date, it's certainly a different feeling than being alone, or running in panic to escape a serial killer or maniac in the woods. :))
