Ok, sweet potatoes, tacos and burritos (well, not exactly american :), pumpkin pie were not in my "like" list when I first came to the States. But I grew to like them :) I made olivye salad and borscht for Christmas for my american friends once and to their surprise they liked it :) So, all one has to do is try. I know an american guy who was on an one-year internship in my town. His wife was Russian, but he would not eat anything from Russian cuisine. I still wonder how he ever managed to survive :)
