Northern Midwest.

Can't be any highland state, nor California, it's too dry there for such trees to grow.

Can't be South, because those tiny wild pine trees don't really grow there mixed with ordinary leaf trees.

And besides, i can't imagine this kind of architecture in the South. Dunno why, but feeling is, the use more limestone.

My guess is it's Colorado, Wyoming, Montana. Maybe Washington.

Though these are places that i'm sorry i didn't catch in my trip.
