The Joys of RuNet!

How can I ever leave the Russian blogosphere when I receive amusing and thought provoking comments like this! :)

"Странная женщина. 42 почти года, мужа нет. Работы, видимо, толковой тоже, иначе не каталась бы по самым дешевым билетам в Москву. Детей нет. Чего в жизни добилась-то? Русский кое-как выучила, чтоб русского мужчину найти? Так они давно разобраны, у них уже дети школу заканчивают. При этом гонор ого-го какой. Высокомерно поучает, хотя в сущности пишет банальности и глупости. Вам бы к психотерапевту, тётенька."

Btw, I never see the single male bloggers on LJ being harassed or criticized for not being married. Why is that? Is it only shameful for an older woman to be single in Russian culture, but okay for men to remain unmarried and childless? My life is worthless! I don't have a Russian man...how can I survive? :)

Pleasant weekend to all!

Unfortunatelly it's normal for our society to judje person who don't want to live like other. I am married and going to work at sea. Once at interview they asked me if my husband will allow me to work at sea. Ugh.. Can you imagine that, as though I am a pet. Also I am childfree, my mother said to me that I have disgusting values in life (apparently it's all values except her values). It's really frustraiting. And I even don't mention what other people reaction like particularly in runet.
P.s. My husband's director removed one collegue when found out he is gay.

In the U.S., I don't think employers are allowed to ask females if they're married or have a children during an interview. It's not a typical question asked in the interview process. I would be offended if someone asked me this, because it has no relevance to any job I would take. I'm grateful my parents have never pressured me to be married or have kids. Their only concern is that I'm happy, be it single or married. :)
