There is no easy answer. It completely depends on where you live. Things in the Midwest are much cheaper than New York City or Washington, DC and people living in big cities always earn more money at their jobs. Same as in Russia (Moscow salary vs. provincial salary). Or, maybe I still don't understand your question?? Sorry. If you give me a specific example, I'll try to answer.
