Good points. My employer has always offered benefits for same sex couples. I'm puzzled why I would be able to get an unrelated person of the same sex on my health insurance plan, but not a person of a different sex, unless legally married, my siblings or parents. After all, it is not so uncommon for a pair of unmarried siblings to live together all their lives.
