You could buy peanut butter in pretty much any major supermarket in Russia a couple of years ago, both crunchy and creamy. Although a lot of it was made in Germany, and German peanut butter tastes nothing like American. It is just moist ground peanuts. Now peanut butter is a bit harder to come across, but Metro and Gurme always have it.
