I mentioned Uzbek food in my previous comment. It is the food of Central Asia. They are landlocked, so they are big on meat, especially lamb. It is kind of similar to Afghan food. Lots of rice pilaf, different kinds of meat dumplings called "manty", and various grilled lamb, beef and chicken dishes. They also use youghurt a lot, like their Turkish ethnic cousins. Georgian food is more spicy, I would think. And more imaginative with sauces. As for Russian food... Meat, cabbage, potatoes, herring, and mayonnaise. I know some people will not like that comment. OK, just kidding:-) Russian food is grreat! But it is much better because we borrowed a lot fromour non-Russian countrymen:-)
