...and the most interesting thing is that the red coat to which the CPSU membership book is pinned was hand-seaed from covers intended for these books (the covers could be easili bought by anyone while even artificial leather was hard to get). Looking closely, one might see the "КПСС" (CPSU) letters on the coat :)
