Wow!
Such cabin could be very expensive.
My manager owns a house in Tahoe. A little bit of the lake could be seen only from the upper floor. Luxury. Hot tub, also, was there.
She invited entire department (all girls) for three nights. We had great time.
She and her boyfriend bought this place in 2006 or 2007 for 1.5 million.

Well, many people consider NYC the best and most fabulous city in all of America! I think they're crazy, but almost all foreigners visit this madhouse. I also prefer Chicago. Much more laid back, and not nearly as crowded.

We only rented it for a week, and we had a lot of people so the price was affordable. To buy such a cabin is very expensive, and unfortunately out of our price range and budget.

Шеннон, Ваш русский превосходен. Начал читать Ваш журнал. Хотел бы владеть английским, как вы русским!

you have to see Chicago from the boat... travelling towards the lake.. then all the magnificence of tall buildings will be revealed... it's the same way, almost , how you discover the beauty of Saint Petersburg...

Русский хороший, но слово город у нас немного другими смыслами наполнено имхо.
Наверно точнее было бы "населенный пункт".
Может быть город, городок, пгт, поселок, деревня и т.д. Не всегда точно соответствует city, town.

I've been on the Chicago River many times! But not in Peter, because I'm always there in winter and everything is frozen. :)

I looked at the picture again and had a second thought about the woods. I saw such woods while living in NJ.
Here is my second guess.
Was this picture taken in NJ?

Was he right?

Chicago architects resolved the problem of sky and skyline so it doesn't overwhelm you...There is a breathing space and a harmony for a man in the city of highscrapers...

as for Leningrad... ... it's a simphony...

New post on Saturday? It's good, I thought you never publish posts on weekends, if in the future there will be more such posts I will be happy, like other readers, I think, too.

About this post, I have a few small notes to this format, but I'll write about them later.

My version - Crossville, TN, USA.

Crossville! :) You read my post about this tiny town? You're right, I don't usually publish stories on the weekends but I'm trying to write more frequently now.
