Invasion in Times Square!

In the past few months, an invasion has occurred in the heart of Times Square. No, it's not terrorists or depressed stock brokers worried about the recent collapse of the financial markets. It's boobs! I sometimes wonder what it must be like to be a beautiful woman, with no marketable skills other than selling your body. Some busty and shapely immigrants have found a way to milk the millions of tourists who flock to Times Square to visit the constant carnival like circus. I have no idea why so many foreigners and Americans wish to visit this place. I've been there a few times, and there's absolutely no desire to return to this sea of humanity and colorful freak show.

The influx of near-naked women, collecting tips to pose for photos with tourists, has reached epic proportions this summer, and the Mayor and some local residents are angry. They wear only a thong, a thin layer of paint and a big smile. The going price for such a photo ranges from $10 - $20 and some parents are growing alarmed that these women are approaching their teenage boys on vacation. "It's child pornography!", screamed one mom I saw on the news. The police have little power in this situation because public nudity is legal in New York as long as it's part of a "performance." What do you think?

Most of the women are Latino and speak no English, but the language of love and sex is universal so it's no problem. Come to the USA, flash a bright smile and your ass, and you too can count a huge stack of dollars at the end of the day! You see, the American dream is still alive and well. :))



The Mayor is trying to put an end to this spectacle and shatter the dreams and income of these "artists," but he has no strong legal basis upon which to stand. What do you think? Should they be allowed to remain in Times Square with Spiderman, the famous Naked Cowboy and all the other circus freaks? Would you be offended if you were walking with your young child and one of these women tickled you with a feather in an effort to entice you into posing for a photo?

It is always better for girls to earn their living with the head than with of a head. But the heads are scarce :(

Well, I can't relate to the male body. I'm not a man. :) That's why I only wrote about women. But, in general, if a woman is comfortable with her body and wishes to sell it by her own choice, I have no problem with it. One of my friends paid for her grad school by working in a strip club, and she was very intelligent.

This is a good question! :) I read that they often work in groups, and have a leader or "handler" to whom they give the money during the day. I guess the handler is similar to a pimp.

Jealous? Of what? I don't object to what they're doing. I support legalization of prostitution, strippers, etc. The female body is beautiful. :)

Exactly my opinion.
I think girls should be as free and "promiscuous" as boys but meantime think about education not to be forced to earn with the butts ant the like. Until the child bearing instinct strikes. Which happens at about 30.

I never had this instinct, and I'm 42. :) But, for most women it happens in their late 20's or early 30's.

I could never figure out why it may be bad for kids; probably only for those who were not breast-fed, but well, my condolences to them.

Breasts were commercialized and turned into something you cannot see for free for a pretty similar reason as mj, they are the source of income for, basically, pimps around the world.

I find it immoral, to go after these women.

Why didn't the Mayor try to shut down the Naked Cowboy all these years? I think it's a double standard, and the women should be allowed to remain there with all the other freaks, and collect their dollars from tourists willing to pay.

What do you think of the Burning man festival ? Its founders are probably very respectable and wise people having leads in the law, business etc. ?

This festival looks very cool, but my body can't tolerate extreme heat! That's why I've never attended the festival, which is held in the desert. I think it would be a wonderful opportunity to meet and photograph some very interesting people and free thinkers. This are the types of humans I try to constantly surround myself with.

Once listening to the Bible Broadcast Network I heard as the preacher said that the gays were sinners because God had created humans to be his image (which is not gay) The thought came to me, what about those born crippled, blind, deaf, lame? Are they also sinners as they are not like God?

This is also a hint for you, to visit some festivals, gatherings in Russia or in other country where concentration of cool people much more than in regular places, streets, train stations etc.

I'm usually traveling in Russia in the winter, when there aren't many festivals. Seems most of them occur during summer, when the weather is warmer and more appealing to the masses.
