180 kilometres from Moscow. Motherland of great Russian poet Esenin is there. Most intresting and amazing place is old Kremlin, defending town from enemies during many centuries. But I live and work in Moscow now, like many other citizens of my city, because level of earnings there are more greatly higher.

Русский хороший, но слово город у нас немного другими смыслами наполнено имхо.
Наверно точнее было бы "населенный пункт".
Может быть город, городок, пгт, поселок, деревня и т.д. Не всегда точно соответствует city, town.
